Script Max Notifications

You can set the failure tolerance and maximum notifications for each script individually.

The maximum notifications setting determines how many times StillAlive will notify you that your script is failing. So if you set the maximum notifications to 4, and your check frequency is 1 minute, and your site goes down, StillAlive will send you a notification every minute for 4 minutes (4 total). It will then send you one more notification when the script succeeds.

If you have twitter, email and SMS enabled, StillAlive will send you one of each type of notification, each time your script fails, up to your notification limit. For example, with SMS, Twitter and Email enabled on the Site view, and max notifications sent to 4, if your script fails 4 times, you will receive 4 SMSs, 4 Tweets and 4 Emails with a fifth one being sent on each when your script starts passing again.

It is important to realise that this happens for each script. So if you have 10 scripts running against the same website, each set with 4 max notifications, you could receive up to 40 notifications on each service if your entire website goes offline, and another 10 when it comes back online.

To change the number of notifications you want to receive, go to your dashboard, view the site that has the script, select the script and follow the edit link, then change the number in the "Max Notifications" select box to be the number you want. Your changes will be saved and take effect immediately once you press the "Finish Editing" button.
